Richard, Steve
and Stephanie occupying the balcony at Steve's flat.
Impressive view from the 15th floor right across the
city. |

Interior of one
of the beer tents at the festival. I forget which one it
was, but basically each brewery had its own huge 'tent'
which was erected specifically for the Weisen beer
festival. Its impossible to believe at the time that
everything was only temporary and would be taken down in
a few weeks time. They were packed to the gills all of
the time so we never really managed to sit inside one,
but there was no need anyway since the weather was so
fine it was great to sit outside and admire the views. |

Again, the
interior of another tent, I believe this was the Hofbrau
tent if I am not mistaken? Easy to recognise since their
traditional colours are blue and white if memory serves
me right. Loved the beer out there - as Steve told us,
there is a local legislation which forbids the use of
chemicals in the beer there, so what you actually get is
a clear, pure, strong German beer! |

Another beer
tent at the festival. This one being the Hippodrome! |

Band playing at
the Hofbrau Haus in the centre of Munich. Actual stage
where Hitler made one of his first speeches apparently -
before being arrested. |

Steve, Richard
and Stephanie in the Hofbrau Haus. I think this was the
first picture since arriving there, though not the first
beers consumed I might add! Richard, Steve and myself
managed to quaff a few of the beers actually brewed at
the airport (and no where else!) |

Outside the
Hofbrau Haus where Stephanie seemed to have charmed a few
of the other patrons of the bar. |

Richard, Steve
and Stephanie at the Weisen festival. Steve seen here
with clenched fist - RSI injury from drinking too much
beer that week I believe he mentioned between guzzling
another beer. ;o) |

Stephanie,
Richard and Steve on Staatsbrucke bridge over the Salzach
river. We travelled on a train for 2hrs from Munich to
Salzburg - just so we could say we'd been to another
country over the weekend! Great place to visit -
especially the old town. They all made me suffer the
smoking carriage too - bah humbug!!! |
|
|
|
 |

One of the
bustling streets in the old town of Saltzburg. Very
quaint and very pretty. Loads of tourists, but what the
heck! |

Saltzburg old
town taken from a bridge over the river. |

Fountain inside
the old town area - looks strangely out of perspective
with all of it's surroundings. Don't you think? |

Steve does his
part in acting minder/bouncer for the weekend "Oi
you, sonny, no pictures please!!". If memory serves
me right, this wasn't the only time Steve played this
part over the course of the weekend. Seen here with
Richard, arriving back at the train station - where
someone, mentioning no names *cough* Stephanie *cough*
arrived back with not a minute to spare!!! |
|

Arriving back
from Saltzburg and back into the festival for more beer!!
Entrance to the festival. Picture's a little dark, but
nevermind. |

Richard seen
here in a rather awkward pose with two local's from the
area, whom I can't remember their names at the moment so
I'll call them Hansel & Gretel. Good laugh was had by
all on the table - consuming copious amounts of beer and
soft bread pretzels. Yummie! |
|
|
|
 |
|
Gretel seen here
sporting her wares. We were quite taken with the fine
body art and wanted a momento for the evening. I didn't
want to take this picture, honest!! Her boyfriend did
seem rather insistent that I did though - so how could I
refuse? |
|
|

Richard &
Stephanie pre-arm-wrestling pose. Will have to spare the
possible blushes, but in this instance it was apparent
that the someone didn't live up to the hype of their
t-shirt! ;o) Rich, all those years of beating up
computer room equipment with mindless rage and I still
beat you?? You need some practise, or was it just a case
of too much beer?
|
|
|
|
 |
|
I think my above
question has been answered in this picture. Okay Rich, we
can see from this shot you were a tad ratted?? Stephanie,
Richard and Steve seen here on the way home from a fine
pint of Guinsess in a local Irish bar. |

Sunday morning
stroll out through the park where the hill in the
background is made up of rubble from the bombings in
WWII. Taking in a breath of fresh air before heading out
to the spectacular English Gardens. |
|
|
|
 |
|
Quick stop off
on the way to the gardens for Steve to check his email
and for the rest of us to grab a much needed coffee! Cafe
wasn't too bad, despite the fawna looking something
similar to that seen in a Cafe in Amsterdam, maybe? Rich
- where do you get these strange poses from?? |
|

Magnificent
building right in the centre of Munich. Nowt much else to
say about that one at the moment, unless someone can
provide some background information? |
